Breath of Bliss - Opening into the Mysteries of the Upper Chakras with Carla Wainwright Fri, Jan 25, 2019 at 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Chakras are the internal energy centres that guide our feelings, hold our desires and shape our perceptions of the world. You can think of them as our internal compasses, a speedometer upon which we can gauge our spiritual health. The upper three, or higher, chakras—the throat, third eye, and crown chakras — correspond to voice, truth, insight and connection with the higher dimensions.

Join Carla, an embodied yoga & breath work facilitator with more than 20 years experience, for a journey through sacred ceremony to explore your upper chakras to align more fully into higher states of knowing and consciousness.

The Breath of Bliss Experience allows you to dissolve barriers to love... gain clarity about what lies ahead for you and discover the truth within. We will enjoy movement, presence, connecting, deep sharing and conscious touch. And then dive into an hour and a half of circular connected breath to discover what wants to be felt, seen and realized within you. No prior experience of anything needed - everyone welcome. $57+tx

Healthy Thyroid & Adrenals with Yoga with Carla Wainwright Sat, Feb 2, 2019 at 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Yoga not only plays an important role in maintaining our health but, also has a very positive effect on our endocrine system. The endocrine system helps to maintain body's homeostasis (balance) by creating and managing your hormones. For many of us, a hectic life can throw our endocrine system and specifically our thyroid and adrenal glands out of balance.

Your thyroid manages all sorts of functions in your body, from sleep to weight to fertility. The small butterfly-shaped gland located in your neck pumps out hormones that play a key role in how your body functions.

The adrenal glands are also absolutely vital to your wellbeing. We each have two of them, and they play a hugely important role in producing the hormones that we need, particularly during times of stress.

Join Carla Wainwright, yoga teacher and Homeopath, for a workshop where we will learn yoga, breathing and lifestyle practices that will help us to strengthen the thyroid & adrenal glands. We’ll learn how to empower our Root & Throat Chakras to balance and rejuvenate this important part of our glandular system. We’ll also discuss lifestyle modifications including diet and specific exercises that along with the yogic practices will increase our vitality and strengthen our ability to respond to stress. Offered just once a year!!

The Feminine Face of Yoga with Anne Douglas with Guest Teacher Next held on Sat, May 11, 2019 at 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Sat May 11, 2019 - Sun May 12, 2019
The Classical teachings of Yoga arose in a time of patriarchal rule, with a masculine perspective for a male audience, to the exclusion of women. And yet out of an estimated 18 million practitioners in the world today, most of them are women. How does this powerful gender shift in the users and teachers of yoga impact the continued flowering of the practice of yoga?

The Feminine Face of Yoga embraces the corporeal experiences of emotion, gut intuition, sensuality and embodiment, while building on the masculine path of intellect, renunciation and transcendence as a path to Freedom. This integrated view may even provide answers to the global environmental and political crisis we all face.

Join us this weekend to explore the feminine principle that is at the heart of the Yogic Teachings. During this weekend we will:

- Review the Foundational Philosophies of Yoga
- Explore the pre-historical feminine roots of Yoga
- Discuss some of the essential expressions of the feminine in yoga
- Experience the wisdom and potency of the feminine as celebrated in the Tantric texts that include the Vijnanabhairava and the Spandakarika
- Uncover feminine variations of practices from the Yoga Sutras
- Build a vision for the future of yoga that embraces both the masculine & feminine
- Practice BodySensing, Hatha Yoga, Breath Sensing, Pranayama, iRest Yoga Nidra & Meditation
